Overwatch 2 will receive its second open beta on June 28, as Blizzard announced on Tuesday (14). Registration starts next Thursday (16th), and, unlike the first beta, in April, console players will also be able to test the title, with the exception of Nintendo Switch users. Interested parties can register for the new beta to play on PC via Battle.Net, PlayStation 4 ( PS4 ), PlayStation 5 ( PS5 ), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.

In addition to being the opening day for registration, Thursday (16) will also feature a broadcast from Overwatch developers bringing more details of the FPS sequel and releasing new information about the beta. The live will take place on the official Play Overwatch channels on Twitch and YouTube starting at 10:00 am.

It is not yet known for sure how the registration process for this beta in Overwatch 2 will be, nor if all registered players will be guaranteed their spot. It is worth remembering that the process to sign up for the first beta consisted of using your Battle.Net account to register or watch specific broadcasts on Twitch to try to unlock access. The expectation is that the process will be similar and that participants of the first test will already have their spot guaranteed on June 28, but nothing has been confirmed by the developer yet.

Blizzard also mentioned that the beta will feature some new features. Chief among them will be the ability to play as Queen Junker, the new tank hero announced for the Overwatch sequel. It was also informed that players will have the opportunity to test a new map, but it is not yet known what this arena will be.

Overwatch 2 will be released for PC and consoles on October 4, 2022. This information was revealed last Sunday (12) during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, an event that also announced Queen Junker herself. The highlight, however, was the confirmation that the FPS will be free in its PVP (Player vs Player) modes. Additionally, players who purchased the first Overwatch will receive the free Overwatch 2 Founder's Pack with two skins and surprises that will be announced at a later date.
